Adopt an adult cat from Sandton SPCA

Adopt an adult cat from Sandton SPCA.

Sandton SPCA is appealing to the public to come and adopt one of our approximately 50 adult cats from our shelter. In recent weeks Sandton SPCA has rescued cats from a house in Houghton and this week has come to the aid of cats from a cattery which burnt down in Linbro Park.

This is in addition to the 25 adult cats already waiting to be adopted from our shelter. The cats range from six months to six years and in cat terms are still young with a long, full life ahead of them.

There are many advantages of adopting an adult cat. Potential adopters can see the temperament and activity level (active, playful or laid back). Older cats tend to be wiser and get into less trouble.

Many believe that it is harder to bond with an older cat but this could not be more untrue. Most of the cats up for adoption at the SPCA crave human love and attention.

The reasons for them being in a shelter are through no fault of their own. Some are strays never claimed by their owners, some are handed in because their owners are relocating or some are simply abandoned.

All our cats are healthy and fed on Royal Canin cat food. The adoption fee is R250 which includes sterilization, inoculation and de-worming. If you are looking for a new loving feline friend why not consider an adult cat and give this majestic creature a second chance – a new loving home.
